The Matriarch Stakes is an American Grade I turf race for thoroughbred horses run annually at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California for a purse of $250,000. The race is open to fillies and mares, age three and up, and is contested over a distance of one mile (8 furlongs.
Like all Fall turf stakes, the race was on hiatus in 2005 due to problems with Hollywood Park's grass course.
